I started my journey into photography over 35 years ago with a "traditional" 35mm film camera, where I learned about composition, exposure, black & white and colour developing and over the years have used various Canon and Nikon SLRs set-ups and moved on to Digital SLRs about 17 years ago.
I have been the senior photographer for one of the Royal Colleges of London, covering their conferences, exhibitions and publicity shots.
One of my passions has been photographing jazz concerts and "Open Mic." evenings, which I've done for charities and entertainment agencies.
I prefer not to use flash during concerts as I feel it spoils the atmosphere created by the stage lighting and disturbs the performers.
It does make it much more difficult to photograph successfully, but the results are worthwhile!
